Thailand's yellow-clad People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) will end its rally Friday, because its purpose has been accomplished, said PAD spokesman Pathep Puapongpan here on Thursday.

The spokesman said the PAD or "Yellow Shirts" would read a statement to officially announce an end to its months-long rally at 8 p.m. on Friday, local media reported.

Panthep reasoned the group's decision to disperse that Thailand would withdraw from the World Heritage Convention, as it had demanded.

It would take the nationalist PAD five days to remove its equipment and other items from the area near the Government House, where it has rallied since late January calling for the government to withdraw from the WHC and against parliamentary endorsement of the memorandum of understanding made with Cambodia in 2000.
