Tornado strikes central Philippine village

At least 46 houses were damaged by a tornado in central Philippines shortly before noon Friday, police said.

Philippine National Police spokesman Senior Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the tornado occurred in Guintas village, Barotac Nuevo town in Iloilo province at around 11:30 a.m.

"There was no reported casualty," said Cruz, adding the villagers who lost their homes were evacuated to an elementary school.
