5.3 magnitude quake hits New Zealand's Christchurch

A 5.3 magnitude aftershock hit New Zealand's South Island city of Christchurch on Tuesday night.

The quake, which occurred at 22: 34 local time (1034 GMT), was centered 30 km southeast of Christchurch at a depth of 12 km, the New Zealand Institute of Geolgocial and Nuclear Sicences said.

So far, there has been no report of casualties or property damages. The quake was strongly felt in quake-devastated Christchurch with power cut in some areas.
