5.1-magnitude quake hits eastern New Guinea region, Papua New Guinea -- USGS

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted eastern New Guinea region, Papua New Guinea at 0058 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 96.50 km, was initially determined to be at 5.3515 degrees south latitude and 145.8121 degrees east longitude.
