Australian airline companies Qantas and Jetstar will resume flying to and from Perth, the state capital of Western Australia, from Thursday after canceling all flights on Wednesday because of volcanic ash.

The two airlines, along with Virgin Australia, had canceled all flights to and from Perth from 1 p.m. on Wednesday after a large ash cloud, the second to enter Australian airspace, moved towards the Western Australian capital.

Both Qantas and Jetstar are also back flying to Tasmania, the southern tip island state, but have not resumed their flight to New Zealand.

The airlines said on Wednesday services to New Zealand remained suspended until Thursday noon when the situation will be reviewed.
