India 's left-wing Naxal rebels killed 10 security personnel in the central state of Chhattisgarh in the wee hours of Friday, less than 24 hours after they killed four security men in the same state, said police.

"Seven Special Police Officers and three constables are among the dead. Three injured constables have already been shifted to the district hospital at Jagdalpur," additional Director General of Police Ramniwas told the media in Raipur, the state capital of Chhattisgarh.

The 10 security personnel were killed when the rebels blew up an anti-landmine vehicle, using powerful explosives at Gatam near Katekalyan in the Maoist-infested Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, he said, adding the securitymen were traveling for a search operation when the incident happened.

A massive manhunt has been launched to track down the culprits, the official added.

Suspected Naxal rebels Thursday killed at least four security forces personnel and injured one in Chhattisgarh.

A group of armed Naxalites suddenly opened fire at a camp of the state's armed police in Naraynpur district. Though the security forces personnel retaliated by counter firing, at least four of them succumbed to the bullets of the Naxalites.
