Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on Thursday that he will not run for the next presidential election to be held in 2014, according to MetroTV private television station.

"I am Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the president of the Republic of Indonesia, state that I will not run for the next president in the presidential election in 2014. My wife and my children will not either run for president in 2014,"Yudhoyono said at a young leaders' forum.

He stressed that he did not prepare anyone for the election, adding "let people and democracy talk."

Indonesia's law stipulates that Indonesian president could not run for the next term after two terms of service.
