An explosion rocked Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday evening killing one person and wounding another, police said.

"The blast happened at 08:30 p.m. local time in Chelsiton district, as a result one person was killed and another sustained injuries," a police told Xinhua but declined to be identified, saying authorized officers would brief media.

Meantime, an eye witness at the site Farid Ahmad said that a man threw a hand grenade towards a vehicle leaving one person dead and injured six others, all civilians.

Police cordoned off the area and do not allow journalists to get access to the site of the blast.
