Indonesia will commemorate the speech of founding father Bung Karno on June 1 as a method developed by the People's Consultative Assembly in socializing four pillars of the nation, an official said in Jakarta on Monday.

Lukman Hakim Syaifuddin, vice speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly said that it would be the second year of the commemoration.

"This year's commemoration will be special as not only the current President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will deliver a speech but two former presidents, namely the third President BJ Habibie and the fifth President Megawati Sukarnoputri will deliver their speech to commemorate Bung Karno's speech in June 1, 1945," said Syaifuddin.

He said that the event would be also attended by current Vice President Boediono, former Vice President Hamzah Haz, former Vice President Try Sutrisno, all cabinet members, leaders of high institutions, police and military high officers as well as governors, leaders of society organizations and leaders of political parties. "There will be 950 officials and former officials who will attend the occasion," he said.

He said that the commemoration would refresh memory of the importance of the four pillars, namely five national principles of Pancasila, State Constitution of UUD1945, the United States of Republic of Indonesia and Unity in Diversity principles.

"Besides, not least important is how to implement values of the four pillars," said Syaifuddin.
