Blast kills 4 in eastern Afghan town

A blast left four Afghan people dead in eastern Laghman province on Monday, an official said.

"The incident happened in a bazaar of Alishing district at around 12:00 noon time when a bomb went off leaving four people dead," district governor Faridullah Niazi told Xinhua.

He also added several people were injured in the blast.

Meantime, a policeman who declined to give his name described the blast as a suicide bombing and said four people were killed and 14 others sustained injuries.

Majority of the victims are civilians, the policeman said, adding authorized officers would brief the media after completion of investigation.

Taliban attack against police in Khost province on Sunday left 10 people including three policemen and four suicide bombers dead.

Another attack against Afghan main military hospital in capital city Kabul for which Taliban outfit claimed responsibility left six people dead and injured 23 others on Saturday.
