Blast rocks Afghan Kandahar city, wounds 2

A powerful blast rocked Kandahar city 450 south of Afghan capital kabul on Sunday, an official said.

"It was a motorbike bomb explosion wounding two persons," the official told Xinhua, but he declined to be identified, saying authorized officers would brief media outlets.

Meantime, Jan Mohammad the deputy to police chief of 2nd precinct, Kandahar city in talks with Xinhua confirmed the incident, saying terrorists planted explosive device in a motorbike and detonated by remote-control as a result two policemen were injured.

The windowpanes of a mosque and houses around were also smashed in the blast, he added.
