Two Americans injured in blast in Peshawar, Pakistan

At least one person was killed and ten others including two Americans injured in a blast that took place early Friday morning in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar, reported local Urdu TV channel Duniya.

According to the local media reports, the blast occurred at about 8:30 a.m. local time on the Abdarra road in the University town of the city. Local TV footage shows the damaged buildings and cars on the blast site.

The two Americans injured in the blast are said to be employees of the United Nations. Details are not immediately available.

Police have cordoned off the area and the injured people have been shifted to nearby hospital.

Initial investigation showed that it was a remote control blast, said police sources.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the blast.
