Blast rocks south Afghanistan Kandahar city

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, May 19 (Xinhua) -- A powerful blast rocked Kandahar city, provincial capital of south Afghanistan's Kandahar province Thursday, with casualties feared.

"There was an explosion in Kandahar city near Kabul Bank branch at around 5:15 p.m. local time," a police official who declined to be named told Xinhua.
