A suicide bomber blew up himself dead in a western Kazakh city on Tuesday, a source in the Kazakh police department told local media.

An unidentified man detonated a bomb device on his body in front of the National Security Committee headquarters in the center of Aktobe, the source said. The explosion killed himself and wounded some others.

The local police has set up a cordon 50 meters off the building, prohibiting people to get close, a Xinhua reporter saw at the site.

According to the local media, police also blocked a residential community in the city, trying to search the planner of the suicide-bombing.

The Kazakh authority has not released any comment on the incident.
