5.8-magnitude quake hits Bougainville region, Papua New Guinea: USGS

An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Bougainville region, Papua New Guinea at 1612 GMT on Sunday (00:12 Monday Beijing Time), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 58.10 km, was initially determined to be at 6.9940 degrees south latitude and 155.8044 degrees east longitude.
