6.0 magnitude quake hits off east coast of Honshu, Japan: CENC

An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter Scale hit off the east coast of Japan's Honshu at 9:54 a.m. Beijing Time Thursday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 40.3 degrees north latitude and 143.6 degrees east longitude with a depth of about 10 kilometers, the center said.
