Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard is scheduled to visit South Korea later this month for talks with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak, Lee's office Cheong Wa Dae said Tuesday.

At the summit talks slated for April 25, the two leaders are expected to discuss expanding ties in a range of areas including security, trade, energy and resources, and bilateral cooperation in the international arena, Cheong Wa Dae said.

During her three-day visit starting April 23, Gillard will also meet with South Korean political and business leaders.

The Australian leader last held talks with Lee when she visited Seoul to attend the G20 summit in November last year.
