Handgrenade attack injures 4 at PPP's office in Karachi, Pakistan

At least four people were injured in a blast that occurred Saturday afternoon in the downtown area of Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, reported local Urdu TV Channel SAMAA.

According to the report, the blast took place at about 14:50 am (local time) when two unidentified men riding a motorcycle threw a handgrenade at a local PPP's (Pakistan Peoples Party, the largest ruling party in the country) office nearby the Lee Market in the Ranchore Line area of Karachi.

A meeting was being held inside the office building when the attack was launched. Four people including a brother of the local party's leader were injured. Conditions of the injured are not clear at the moment of this stage.

The attackers fled the site before the police reached. Police have cordoned off the area and search operation is conducted.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack yet.
