Fresh 6-magnitude earthquake jolts off Japan's Honshu

An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan, at 7:37 p.m. Beijing time Sunday, according to the China Earthquake Network Center.

The epicenter, with a depth of 20 km, was monitored at 37.3 degrees north latitude and 142.6 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement.
