5.8 magnitude quake hits off east coast of Honshu, Japan: USGS

An aftershock measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake struck at 12:53:50 GMT. Its epicenter, with a depth of 19.20 km, was initially determined to be at 37.7541 degrees north latitude and 143.5730 degrees east longitude.
