A 6.1-magnitude aftershock occurs near the east coast of Honshu, Japan Saturday, according to the US Geological Survey.

The aftershock happened around 19:53 local time (1053 GMT) with the epicenter locating at 39.0745 north latitude and 142.3524 east longitude, at a depth of 24.9 kilometers.
