Afghan and NATO-led forces during a cleanup operation launched Friday night have killed 15 Taliban militants in country's Nangarhar province 120 km east of capital Kabul, a private television channel reported Saturday.

"The joint forces during cleanup operation launched last night in Lal Pur district have killed 15 rebels so far," Tolo TV broadcast in its news bulletin.

One Taliban commander named Lal Khan was also killed during the operation and the operation is still continuing, it said.

There were no casualties on the joint forces, the TV quoted provincial police chief Ali Shah Paktiawal as saying.
