Quake hits Japan's Kanto region

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale rocked Japan's Kanto region Saturday, said the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The focus of the quake, which occurred at 10:56 a.m. (0156 GMT), was located some 70 km under the sea southeast of Chiba Prefecture, said the agency.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to properties, and no tsunami warning was issued.
