Indonesia evacuates its citizen in Egypt

Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Monday ordered to evacuate Indonesian citizens in Egypt as violent anti-government protest in the country continues.

The president issued the order after a meeting at the State Palace discussing the latest situation in Egypt.

President Yudhoyono asked to send planes to get back over 6,100 Indonesian citizens in the Arabic country immediately.

"If they can depart tonight, go ahead," President Yudhoyono told a press conference at the State Palace.

Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said the planes would flight to Egypt on Monday evening.

"The planes are to depart tonight," he said at the palace.

Most of Indonesian citizens working there as domestic helper in Egypt.

More than one hundred people have been killed in the unrest that have started since six days ago in Egypt.

Many foreign countries have also evacuated their citizens from Egypt.
