Indonesia cancels flights in Bali due to volcano eruption

At least 13 flights from and to Denpasar, the capital city of Indonesia's leisure island of Bali, were canceled due to the air around the city's airport that intruded by volcanic ashes from Bromo volcano in East Java, an Indonesian official said on Friday.

Indonesian Transportation Ministry spokesperson Bambang Supriyadi Ervan said that the order to stop the flight of those planes in Bali was based on the notification issued by Darwin, Australia-based Volcanic Ash Advisory Center. "We had extended that (notification)," Bambang said.

Jet Star, Virgin Blue, Cathay Pacific and Value Air serving Bali to Hong Kong, Singapore and Perth have canceled their flights, the reported.
