Ukrainian president to visit Japan next week

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych will make an official visit to Japan from Jan. 18 to 21, his office said Friday.
"Yanukovych will meet Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan, Emperor Akihito and the speakers of both chambers of the Japanese parliament," presidential administration chief Sergii Liovochkin said.
Both sides planned to discuss a joint action for the future, he said.
According to the official, a number of documents are planned to be signed during Yanukovych's visit; in particular, a loan agreement between Ukreximbank and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
During his visit, Yanukovych is also scheduled to visit the western Japanese cities of Kyoto and Osaka and deliver a speech at the Japan Business Federation.
