5 militants detained: NATO

Afghan and NATO-led troops arrested five Taliban militants including the planer of attack on army recruitment center in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province on Saturday, a press release of the military alliance said here Sunday.

"Afghan and coalition forces targeted a Taliban facilitator involved in the planning and execution of the Dec. 19 attack against an Afghan National Security Force recruiting center in Kunduz City during a security operation detaining five suspected insurgents in Kunduz province yesterday," the press release added.

On Dec. 19 attack against the Afghan army recruitment center in Kunduz city the capital of Kunduz province for which Taliban outfit claimed of responsibility, eight personnel of Afghan security forces and two suicide bombers were killed.

"The targeted Taliban facilitator is responsible for the distribution and use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and suicide vehicle-borne IEDs in the province," the press release added.

Meantime,Mahboubullah Mahboub the head of Provincial Council in Kunduz said that "foreign troops raided the house and detained five persons including head of the house Qari Noorullah." All those arrested by the troops all civilians, he added.
