Magnitude-5 earthquake hits Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale struck Indonesia at 0820 GMT, Hong Kong Observatory announced Saturday afternoon.

The epicenter was initially determined to be in Sulawesi, at 1. 1 degrees south latitude and 120.1 degrees east longitude, which is about 450 km north of Ujung Pandang.
