Four terrorists arrested in Karachi, south Pakistan

Pakistani police in south port city of Karachi arrested four terrorists of the banned militant group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi on Wednesday night.

According to police, the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) team conducted a raid in the city based on inelegance reports and arrested one militant identified as Imam-ud-Din alias Maavia.

After initial investigations from Maavia more secret came on screen about his other three accomplices who were planning to conduct terrorist activities during Moharram processions.

Investigation also revealed that they have got training from Afghan Taliban Commander Abdul Ghanialias Mullah Brother and initially fought war in Afghanistan. Mullah was arrested from Karachi in February 2010.

Based on Maavia's information, Special Investigation Unit team conducted another raid in Orangi Town area of the metropolis and arrested three more terrorists of the banned outfit Lashkar-e- Jhangvi identified as Shamim, Shoukat Sardar and Qasim Rashid.

During the operation, police seized 22 kilograms of explosives with arms and ammunition which also used in making suicide jackets. They also recovered some suicide jackets from their residence.

On Tuesday Karachi police foiled a terrorist plan by arresting a member of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
