At least two police were killed and five others injured Saturday night by a group of unidentified militants in Peshawar, the largest city in northwest Pakistan, reported local Urdu TV channel Geo.
According to the report, the incident took place in an industrial area of the city on Saturday night when some ten armed militants launched an attack at the police on duty.
After a brief crossfire with the police, all the attackers ran away, said the report, adding that the security forces who rushed to the site have cordoned off the area and a search operation is underway.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
