British Home Secretary Theresa May announced on Monday that Britain will suspend unaccompanied cargo from Yemen and Somalia into the country.
She also announced a ban on toner cartridges over 500 gms carried in hand luggage, Sky news reported.
Ahead of an announcement on airport security, British Prime Minister David Cameron called for action to combat the "terror cancer" in the Arabian peninsula.
The explosive contained in toner cartridges was found at East Midlands on Friday. Cameron said the incident showed the interest of the whole world in coming together to deal with this.
He said "the threat from the Arabian peninsula and from Yemen in particular has grown."
