An accidental explosion left one child injured and many more panicked in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on Friday, residents said.
A building in the busy Saddar area was damaged due to the gas cylinder blast and security forces have cordoned off the site which is inside an army camp.
Locals said they heard the blast near the office of a political agent who deals with the nearby Khyber tribal region.
Witnesses said they saw smoke emitting out of the blast site. " It was a huge blast," said several residents, scared of assumed terrorist attacks which hit the city frequently.
On Thursday night, a minor explosion near a hotel in the eastern city of Lahore also caused traffic chaos on the Mall road. No casualties were reported.
