Top leader Kim Jong Il of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Sunday attended a military parade here to mark the 65th birthday of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).
Also present was Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, and many other senior DPRK officials.
Kim Jong Un was recently bestowed the military rank of general and elected to the 19-member Central Military Commission of the WPK.
Tens of thousands of troops assembled in central Pyongyang for the grand ceremony.
