The state-run Korea Development Institute (KDI) said it will hold the forum from Tuesday to Wednesday, jointly with the U.S.- based Brookings Institutions.
Around 30 experts from 10 countries will be present at the conference, which aims at discussing ways to develop the G20 summit into a top-level "control committee" to steer the future global economic growth, the KDI said.
The KDI said G20 is the next alternative for G7 or G8 meetings, better representing stances of developing nations.
Meanwhile, South Korea is also preparing for the G20 finance minister and central bank governor meeting ahead of the November summit, which will be held in the southern city of Gyeongju in October.
