An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted Hokkaido, Japan, at 05:47:49 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 59.50 km, was initially determined to be at 41.5228 degrees north latitude and 142.0373 degrees east longitude.
