At least four people were killed Wednesday when a second suspected U.S. drone launched an airstrike at Datta Khel area of North Waziristan in Pakistan's northwest tribal belt, local sources told Xinhua.

The pilotless aircraft fired three missiles at a vehicle in Anbor Saga area of Datta Khel, sources said.

It was the second drone attack in the tribal area in a day. Hours earlier, a drone strike killed at least four and injured several others in Danda Darpa Khel area of North Waziristan.

Over the last few days, the U.S. army has apparently stepped up the drone strikes in the country's northwest areas bordering Afghanistan. Dozens of people were reportedly killed and injured in the attacks.
