Six policemen were mysteriously poisoned in Taliban birthplace Kandahar province in south Afghanistan, an official said Tuesday.
The official, who declined to be identified, told Xinhua that the incident occurred in Kandahar city Monday night and all the six policemen have been taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Meantime, spokesman for Kandahar's provincial administration Zalmai Ayubi confirmed the incident, saying some policemen were mysteriously poisoned.
Nevertheless, he did not give the exact number of the poisoned policemen, saying investigation is underway.
