An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit off Bonin Islands, Japan, at 0141 GMT on Tuesday, according to a bulletin released by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter, with the depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be 28.571 degrees north latitude and 142.229 degrees east longitude.
