At least 15 policemen were injured during an on-going fight with unknown militants, which broke out early Monday morning at a checkpost near Peshawar in northwest Pakistan, according to the local media reports.
local media Royal reported that about 200 militants launched a massive attack on a checkpost in the area of Achni, a small town near Peshawar, in the wee hours of Monday morning.
According to the local media reports, there were an estimated 15 police on duty at the checkpost when the attack was launched.
More casualties are feared as the fierce fight is still underway, said local media, adding that the checkpost is now on fire due to the attack by the militants.
More troops have reportedly been dispatched to reinforce the police fighting back the militants at the checkpost.
