American national, 4 Filipinos killed in N Philippine

An American national and four Filipino companions were found dead inside his rented apartment in the northern Philippine city of Angeles on Thursday afternoon, the police said.

Superintendent Danilo Bautista, Angeles City police chief, said American Albert Michell and his companion were found at the apartment with gunshot wounds.

Bautista said the victims were found by the subdivision's security guard, Angelo Prado, around 1:30 p.m.

He said policemen from the Scene of the Crime Office are conducting investigation on the incident. He said the responding policemen found at the apartment a 9 mm pistol which was apparently used by the assailant.

Citing initial investigation, Bautista said the suspect that an unidentified man, described to be 5'6" in height, in his early 30s, medium built and with white complexion, killed the five. Probers said the motive appeared to be robbery.
