Rescuers have found 16 persons who had gone missing after their boat capsized in Sunda Straits on Tuesday, the National Search and Rescue Agency reported on Wednesday.
A rescuer at the agency named only Zulkarnaen said that the Langsung Jaya Raya boat was sunk on Tuesday after it departed from Muara Baru in North Jakarta to Panaitan Island in the strait between Java island and Sumatra island. "All of the 16 people on board, including the captain and the passengers have been found. All of them are alive,"he told Xinhua.
Zulkarnaen said that the vessel sunk after it suffered from leaking.
