S Korean Air Force fighter jet crashes, pilots missing

A South Korean Air Force F-5 fighter jet crashed into waters off the country's west coast Friday, with two pilots missing, Air Force officials said.
The fighter disappeared around 10:33 a.m. near a base in the coastal city of Gangneung, north of the national capital Seoul, during a return trip from a routine mission, the officials said.
A search operation has begun. Several helicopters were sent by the Air Force to the crash site, some 1.8 km from the base.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
