UN, OSCE, EU back Kyrgyz interim government's efforts for stability

The statement said the UN, the OSCE and the EU had worked out an emergency action plan with clear-cut moves for helping prevent an escalation of conflict and facilitating reconciliation and reconstruction.
The priority for the time being, the joint statement said, is to set up and secure a corridor for humanitarian aid supplies to the Osh and Jalalabad regions.
Kyrgyzstan's health ministry said Wednesday that almost a week of clashes between ethnic Uzbeks and Kyrgyz in southern Kyrgyzstan had so far claimed the lives of close to 190 people and wounded nearly 1,900 others.
