Death toll in drone strike in NW Pakistan rises to 15

The death toll of the U.S. drone strike in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal area reached to 15, whereas 10 others were wounded in the incident on Friday, local TV channels reported.

Local sources said the drone fired four missiles at a house in Datta Khel area, killing four people at the scene and leading to two houses completely destroyed, according to the private TV GEO News.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital as 11 persons died of wounds later. Several others were in critical condition.

The identities of the died have not been known.

Meanwhile, drone flights are still hovering over the areas creating panic among the locals.

It is the second U.S. strike in North Waziristan region, the stronghold of Taliban militants, in two days.

On Thursday, a U.S. drone aircraft targeted a compound of suspected militants in Mir Ali, a main town in North Waziristan, and killed at least three people.
