June proves deadly for NATO forces in Afghanistan as over 20 killed in first week (3)

Both NATO and Taliban outfit are muscling in Kandahar, the birthplace of the hard-die insurgents and showdown is possible any moment.
NATO commanders and Afghan army officials say that the crackdown on Taliban hideouts in Kandahar is inevitable to ensure lasting peace there.
However, on the other hand, the adamant Taliban outfit that declared spring offensive dubbed "Al-Faath," which means victory in early May has vowed to intensify attacks against Afghan and NATO-led forces based in Afghanistan.
The new offensive although has been downplayed by the Afghan commanders as mere propaganda, according to Taliban statements, would be carried out in the shape of suicide attacks and roadside bombings which often claim civilian lives in addition to harming army personnel.
