Bangladeshi government to bear treatment cost of fire injured people: PM

The Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Friday announced that the government would bear the treatment cost of the people who were injured in a residential complex fire on Thursday night in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka.

"The government would bear the cost of the treatment of the fire injured people," a spokesman of the Prime Minister's Office was quoted as saying by national news agency BSS.

He added that the Prime Minister also said that her government would take all necessary steps for the rehabilitation of the people affected by Thursday night's devastating fire.

He said Sheikh Hasina canceled all her scheduled programs of the day in view of the disaster and visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to see the injured people's condition.

The Prime Minister also asked the authorities concerned to take all out measures to provide adequate treatment facilities to the injured.
