Dozen security checkpoints set up in Bangkok for security: police

At least 12 security check points have been established across capital Bangkok to ensure security, Pol Maj. General Piya Uthayo, the Metropolitan Police Bureau's spokesman said Saturday.

According to Thai News Agency (TNA), Piya Uthayo said that the latest move is aimed at preventing ill-intended groups from inciting violence.

Armed-police forces have also been deployed to closely monitor the situation across the capital, the spokesman added.
