The family of a New Zealand man missing in Bangkok is making a plea for help.
Christchurch based Karl Warhurst is thought to have suffered a head injury while caught up in "red-shirt" protesters.
He was last seen in a Bangkok Hospital three days ago.
His sister Cari Vatenburg said the disappearance was totally out of character.
Warhurst's disappearance in Bangkok is not believed to be related to the protests, New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) said.
An MFAT spokeswoman said they had spoken with hospital officials who confirmed Warhurst has been discharged.
"Mr Warhurst has not contacted the embassy for assistance and we believe his circumstances aren't related to the current protest activities," she said.
New Zeakabd MFAT is liaising with his family.
