The National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India Monday filed a chargesheet against 11 people in the Goa bomb blast case in October 2009.

The accused have been charged with conspiring to execute serial bomb blasts in Madgaon on the eve of Diwali on October 16, 2009.

Two persons had died in a bomb explosion at Margao town while police defused two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) at Sancoale, 30 km away from Margao.

According to police, all the accused belong to the Sanathan Sanstha, a Hindu group. Four of them are already in police custody.

However, it is still not clear what exact role Sanathan Sanstha had played in executing the attack.

Police suspected the group's involvement after the motorcycle on which the bomb was planted was traced to one of the members of Sanathan Sanstha.

Last week, Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Vasco granted bail to two of the accused as National Investigation Agency had failed to file a chargesheet despite having the duo in custody for 180 days.
