Three Polish soldiers have been hospitalized with injuries after their patrol came under fire in central Afghanistan, the PAP news agency reported on Sunday, citing a spokesman of the Polish Army Operational Services Command.

The Polish-Afghan patrol came under fire some 20 kilometers away from the Warrior base in the Ghazni province on Saturday.

The soldiers' injuries are not life-threatening, according to the spokesman.

Poland has some 2,600 troops stationed in the Afghan province of Ghazni, as part of the NATO-led multinational peacekeeping force, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).
